Ruzanna Grigoryan, Gor Hakobyan, Arpine Galfayan and Eghia Nersisyan, the activists undertaking the protection of the Mashtots park, explain the role of the public in the struggle.
At first, the public was rather skeptical of the movement and did not believe that a group of activists could possibly achieve anything. But later, realizing that this was a matter of establishing justice, many people joined the struggle. As the activities mainly took place in a public area, this made it easier for people to express themselves. Although, the movement was supported by many, including numerous support letters received from the Armenian Diaspora, fewer people were brave enough to actually participate. The activists believe that if more people took part in the struggle, better results would be achieved.
