The Komerit Union (around 20 hectare) and Fountains (around 10 hectare) parks, opened in the 1980s and separated from each other by Vazgen Sargsyan street (former Leningradyan), ending at Antaravan street (former Manushyan), were investigated in the framework of the project Public Addresses. From the early 1990s till today, cabin townships were established in these areas, where, in addition to tin cabins, stone buildings were also constructed. Although according to the 2005 Gyumri master plan, these public spaces mainly look green (this means they are intended to be restored in the future), today they are also subject to privatization. The residents of the parks would mostly like to privatize the populated areas.
